24 September 2018: Global Quarter-Turn
Valves Market is expected to rise at a higher CAGR in the
forecast period in anticipation to their extensive production and use.
Generally, a quarter-turn valve also known as “valve” is a device that
regulates controls or directs the flow of fluids by opening, closing and
hindering various passages. Valves come in various shapes and sizes and
normally in an open valve, the fluid flows in a direction from high pressure to
lower pressure.

Valves have many uses comprising
that include irrigation, industrial uses, and residential uses such as on/off
and pressure to control dish and clothes washers and taps at home. Quarter-turn
valves are also known as ball valves that use a ball-shaped disk to enable or
disable the flow. If the valve is opened, the ball revolves at a point where
the hole through the ball is in line with valve body inlet & outlet.
Technically, quarter-valves are available in three versions, full port, venturi
port and reduced port.
Quarter-turn valves are produced
in several configurations and the common ones are top-entry quarter-turn valves
and body split valves. Top entry quarter valves enable access to valve
internals for maintenance by removal of valve from the pipe system. Split
quarter valves comprise two parts in which one part is smaller as other. The
quarter-turn ball valve is inserted in the larger body part and smaller body
part is assembled by a bolted connection. Quarter-turn valves are also used in
air, gaseous and liquid applications and also in steam services. Quarter-Turn
valves industry is driven by factors such as high performance and a robust
product for industrial & residential plumbing solutions. However,
availability of cheap alternatives is likely to impede the market growth in the
forecast period.
Quarter-turn valves industry is
geographically segmented into North America, Latin America, Asia-Pacific, and
Middle-East & Africa. APAC regions are expected to grow in the forecast
period owing to rise in commercial construction activities. North America is
anticipated to grow at a higher CAGR in the forecast period owing to use of
concrete solutions for industrial plumbing. Europe is anticipated to follow the
trend. Middle-East and African regions are expected to rise at a steady CAGR in
the forecast period owing to limited construction activities. The key players
in the quarter-turn valves industry include Barksdale Inc, The AVK Group,
Cameron, Crane Nuclear Inc, Emerson Electric & Co, and CRANE Chempharma
& Energy, Flowserve Corporation.
